About Little Kenadie

Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley, known around the world as "the littlest angel", was born Feb.13, 2003, weighing just 2 lbs, 8 ounces.

Doctors were at a loss as to why she was born so small and told her parents this little miracle baby likely wouldn't live through the night. But she did.

She continued to defy doctors expectations and at the age of 8 months, Kenadie was finally diagnosed with primordial dwarfism, a genetic condition that is believed to affect only about 100 people in the world. She isn't expected to grow past about 30 inches or weigh more than 8 pounds.

But from the day Kenadie was born her parents, Brianne Jourdin and Court Bromley, refused to give up. As they say, "We loved life right into her."

Indeed, they did.

Nearing the age of four, Kenadie now walks, runs, laughs, smiles and is beginning to talk. But, perhaps more importantly, it's the way Kenadie makes people feel that is her strongest achievement. Those who come into contact with her invariably believe that they have been touched by God, that somehow this little angel has touched their soul.

She may be small but no one would argue that this little girl has an enormous effect on people throughout the world.

If You Would Like to Help

Your benevolence is cherished and helps Kenadie with:

  • Alterations on clothes and toys, and household supplies, chairs etc.
  • Every 3 months, we travel 8 hours for doctor appointments.
  • Travelling to the LPA Conference annually. It is important to network with other families and Kenadie needs to spend time with other children like her.

Court and Brianne

Brianne Jourdin was just 22, when she and her fiancee, Court Bromley, 25, decided to have a baby. But four months into the pregnancy Brianne knew something was wrong. Her stomach wasn't growing like it was supposed to. However, her midwives kept telling her everything was fine, that the baby was just growing up instead of out. Brianne finally demanded an ultrasound at eight months and it was then that doctors realized something was wrong. Brianne and Court's baby wasn't growing at a normal weight.

Despite the challenge that lay before them, Court and Brianne displayed a maturity beyond their years. Every day was about helping their little girl live through another night.

Little Kenadie leads a normal pre-schooler life, and has a younger brother, Tyran Jacob. In 2004, they decided to add to their family and have another baby. They knew the odds of having another baby with primordial dwarfism were high (a one-in-four chance) but that didn't matter. On April 8, 2005, Tyran Jacob was born weighing a whopping 8 lbs 7oz. At birth he weighed more than his older sister. Now, Kenadie is blessed to have a big little brother to protect and care for her.

Since most primordial dwarves do not exceed 30 inches in height, the family will have to make modifications to accomodate Kenadie's size since the world is built at a much larger scale. She currently sleeps in a crib and will continue to ride in a car seat for quite some time.

Brianne on People's Generosity

I used to have a hard time with this whole situation. Not because Kenadie was anything but wonderful, but it was just a lot. A heavy brain full of things to remember to ask or do or find!

I always felt guilty for accepting help because Kenadie is my child, and I should be able to do it all. Then opportunities started appearing, and I thought I could either pass them up, or take them.

Kenadie has a special gift to warm people's souls... I guess I wanted her all to myself. I feel like I could never say thank you enough, so I'll say it now, for all the times I may forget to.

THANK YOU.
